Der Infogucker ist eine bisher einzigartige Software und ermöglicht die einfache und übersichtliche Verwaltung von Bildern, Digitalfotos, Sicherheitskopien und Musikdateien auf dem Computer. Er ist eine ideale Lösung für die Archivierung von digitalen Foto- und Bildbeständen. Der Programmaufbau erinnert dabei an den Windows Datei-Explorer, was eine schnelle Orientierung wesentlich erleichtert. Infogucker erlaubt für jedes Bild und auch für ganze Bildgruppen Textattribute gleichzeitig festzulegen. Dazu zählen Überschrift, Objektname, Motivgruppe und vieles mehr. Die Freeware unterstützt dabei das IPTC und das EXIF Format und speichert somit alle relevanten Daten direkt in der Bilddatei. Dies hat zum Vorteil, dass Ihre Bildattribute auch dann erhalten bleiben, wenn Sie den Speicherort der Bilder verlegen oder gar auf einen Datenträger brennen und weitergeben. Diese Funktion unterscheidet den InfoGucker von vielen anderen Archivierungsprogrammen. Ebenso können Informationen aus den Bildern entfernt werden und dadurch beispielsweise anonymisiert. Mit detaillierten Suchfunktionen können die Bilder immer wieder gefunden werden. Als Grafikbetrachter liefert der InfoGucker Übersichten in der beliebten Thumbnailansicht. Optional können für eine Steigerung der Darstellungsgeschwindigkeit die bereits vom Windows Explorer angelegten 'Thumbs.db' Dateien eingesetzt und aktualisiert werden. Ferner bietet InfoGucker die Bildbetrachtung (auch nebst Attributen) als Slide-Show an. Als weitere Funktionalität können Sicherheitskopien (Dateien, die einmal auf CDs gebrannt wurden) verwaltet werden. Auf diese Weise können die Sicherungen der Dateien immer aktuell gehalten werden. Für Musikdateien (mp3) wird die ID3-Tag-Notation zur Informationsverwaltung genutzt. Eine Vielfalt von kleinen Verwaltungshilfen wie strukturierte Baumdarstellung und Drucken von Kontaktabzügen rundet die Software ab.
